In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Black Voters Matter is committed to providing and locating resources in the communities we serve throughout 10 different states. While we take the time to practice physical distancing and continue to spread love and build power from our homes, we are excited to announce our COVID-19 Mutual Aid and Emergency Relief Self-Determination Fund. This Fund will provide at least $150,000 to a variety of community-based efforts, based on concepts of "solidarity, not charity". This Fund will support a variety of mutual aid efforts, including:
Food delivery and mobile grocery programs such as A Better Way Grocers in hard-hit Albany, Georgia
Emergency relief targeted to particular populations, such as families of incarcerated, Black immigrant communities (documented and undocumented), and more.
If you would like to donate to support our Mutual Aid and Emergency Relief Self-Determination Fund, please donate here.
If you are operating a coronavirus related mutual aid program or emergency fund and would like to apply for BVM support, please complete our online application here.
In addition, as we reach out to community members throughout our states via, texting, phones and social media, we want to keep you updated on important COVID related resources in your communities. We will continue to publish updates to our resource list for each state.
